Seed paper with a logo: designing an invitation or campaign card

Seed paper and seeded print products — The photograph shows a manufacturer’s sample design. Your order contents and artwork are confirmed separately.

Seed paper with a logo combines a printed message with the possibility of planting it later. A company invitation, thank-you card or campaign card first needs to be readable and give the recipient a clear next step. A surface containing seeds behaves differently from smooth card stock. Choose the format, artwork and planting information before sending the final file so that the quotation covers a complete item.

Start seed paper with a logo from the card’s purpose

Describe what the reader should do after receiving the card. An invitation may direct them to registration, a thank-you card may explain the gift and a campaign card may introduce an offer. Planting is a separate activity. Give the primary message enough space and place supporting information on the reverse or an agreed insert. Several competing messages can make a small card difficult to follow.

Begin with seed paper and seeded printed items for a personalised sheet or card. A seeded leaflet offers a different arrangement of printed surfaces, while Message in a bottle changes the presentation by putting a paper roll in a glass vial. Compare the actual product and packaging, rather than treating photographs of different formats as equivalent quotations.

A card handed out at a trade show can be explained in person. A mailed card needs to provide the relevant information itself; a thank-you card inside a gift set can refer to the other items. Describe this distribution context in your enquiry. If information must remain available after the paper is planted, plan a separate way to access it.

Choose the format before placing the logo

State the desired finished size, number of printed sides and connection to an envelope or gift set. Request the selected product’s template and confirmation that the format works for your quantity. A file drawn at an arbitrary size is an idea, rather than a confirmed production layout. Smaller cards require tighter editing; a larger surface also changes how the item is packed and distributed.

Use Main design question Details for the enquiry
Invitation Are the date and next step clear? Format, printed sides and registration link
Thank-you card Is one short message sufficient? Connection to the gift and packaging
Campaign card Is the offer readable at the final size? Message, validity and artwork versions
Leaflet Which information belongs on each surface? Agreed folded format and template

Review the layout at its actual size. Enlarged artwork on a screen can hide problems with small text or a detailed logo. A paper size sketch helps communicate your requirement, but it does not confirm the printing result on seed paper. The final arrangement needs checking against the chosen material and printing method.

Adapt artwork to the seed-containing surface

Texture and visible seeds are part of the material. Fine lines, small text and detailed photographs need particular attention. Supply the original logo and identify colours or details that are essential to the brand. If you use a single-colour alternative, use an approved version rather than simplifying the mark without checking the company’s rules.

Give each element a purpose and leave space between them. For example, the logo can introduce the sender, a short central message can explain the card and a separate line can direct the recipient to instructions. Filling every part of the surface does not automatically improve readability. Choose the arrangement around what the recipient should notice first.

A QR code should be assessed at the real size on the selected material. Keep an important date or simple web address visible when the reader needs it immediately. The destination page must be ready before printing. Decide what that address should display after the campaign ends, so a card kept for later use does not lead to an outdated page.

Include instructions for the actual product

Planting information should match the selected seed mix and be in a language the recipient understands. Confirm the plant choice, suitable growing location and timing for this product. Instructions from another seed gift are not automatically interchangeable. A product name also does not establish one germination time or outcome for every recipient.

Choose whether the instructions belong on the card, an insert or an agreed web page. Text printed on paper being planted cannot remain available in the same way afterwards. Include the required instruction languages in the brief. For distribution across countries, confirm suitability for the destination as part of the particular order.

Review the whole recipient journey: receiving the card, understanding the message and deciding whether and where to plant it. Environmental imagery does not itself establish a material property. If you want to describe a certificate or a specific material, request the confirmed information for the selected order and use that description precisely.

What belongs in a seed-paper quotation request?

Send the purpose, format, quantity, printed sides, logo and proposed text. Add the seed preference or a request for help choosing it, instruction languages, packaging, destination country and required arrival date. Break down quantities by artwork version when there is more than one design. A single total does not explain how many layouts need production approval.

Compare complete sets. A sheet, a roll in a vial and a packaged leaflet have different contents. Ask what is printed, what packaging is included and which preparation work belongs in the quotation. Price and delivery are confirmed for the quantity and approved layout. Allow separately for artwork approval, production and transport.

Explore the desk accessories and printed items. For an earlier comparison of gift types, read the seed paper, seed ball and growing-kit guide. Send your card enquiry with the purpose and files so readability, feasibility and the complete item can be considered together.
